Las Vegas area late March

Depending on what you mean by 'area', there should be no trouble whatsoever.

Thanks for your prompt reply, by 'area' we mean no more than an hour's travel.

There are several NFS campgrounds and Lake Mead NRA parks within an hour of LV. It would be most unlikely to not find camping. And there are also ample free boondocking sites in the Lake Mead area.

Lovely park but very popular. Avoid it during spring break, esp. California spring break.

There's a Clark County Shooting complex that might be interesting and they have full hookups.

We loved boondocking at Stewart's Point on Lake Mead. Free camping, but $20/week or an interagency pass is required to enter the NRA.

Some good recommendations already offered. You may also want to checkout some of the private parks near Boulder City (just outside Las Vegas) or Pahrump, NV.. also not too far from Las Vegas.

Have fun. Late March is a great time but it will be very busy so make your reservations early. March is prime wildflower season in the desert

FirstTracks, could you give a bit more info on what's required for boondocking at Lake Mead? What is the interagency pass, can non-US citizens acquire it, or how do you pay the $20/week fee?

We hope to be in the LV area at the end of March/beginning of April for the world men's curling championships and the NHRA race.

This could be a factor, as you plan to attend event(s) that will likely draw more visitors than would normally be expected that time of year. Could impact the availability of camping in areas others have mentioned. Perhaps some of those folks have experience with these events? I have nothing to offer, other than to perhaps contact/check the websites for the events you plan to attend, and see if there's some specific information that could impact your plans.
