Lots of good suggestions.
I have done the Circus Circus RV park twice now. It's best in terms of location IF being close to the strip is important. Safe, clean, easy, plenty of spots. Very basic. You ONLY go here for the strip. The Circus Circus casino is one of the sleaziest major casinos in town.
Sam's is pretty good as well. Also safe, clean, convenient etc... However, a little less room, less convenience if the strip is your main goal, and louder IMHO.
My pick would be Lake Mead NRA about 25 mins away. Close enough to enjoy Vegas but not too close to "smell" it. ;) I third Valley of Fire SP and anything in the area. Hoover Dam and more. I will be staying in one of the lake view sites at Boulder Beach in April.
