We are planning our summer vacation and I'd appreciate any recommendations you may have. We are a group of 3 or 4 couples with travel trailers, looking for:

Mid June-ish
RV park on a fishing lake
Rental boats
Possible guide service
Walking / biking trails

We are from Missouri, guess we're looking at Minn / Wisc / Mich.......

Open to all suggestions, thanks.........

With a handle like "EsoxLucius" I would expect maybe a "ski" or two!

I'm not a fisherman, but while living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula a friend of mine living in the western U.P. liked walleye fishing at Lake Gogebic just east of Ironwood, MI. There is a large state park on the lake and there are private campgrounds in the area (check Wakefield, Bessemer, & Ironwood on RV Park Reviews.com).

Just north of there is the Porcupine Mountains State Park. It's a huge park with lots of hiking trails and beautiful scenery. I especially like the trails on either side of the Presque Isle River at the south end of the park.

This area is right across the border from Wisconsin and not far east of Minnesota so it's in your target area. Good luck with the fishing.

It's not Minn/Wisc/Mich but I grew up on Harlan Reservoir in Nebraska and it has most everything your list. There is the Nebraska Governor's Cup Walleye Tournament in June but not sure of the dates. There are several campgrounds that have everything from dry camping to full hook-ups (2 of the campgrounds have shower houses, one has coin-op laundry) with boat ramps. There are 2 marina's that offer boat rentals. There is a hike/bike trail from one of the campgrounds that goes into the nearby town of Alma (3.0 miles one way) and the coffee shop in town rents bicycles. I'm not sure of a guide service for fishing but there might be. Here's a website if you want to check it out:
