longterm campsites around Columbia SC

I'm new to all this and I just recently bought my first camper. I currently have it just outside of Charleston but I am transferring to Columbia SC next month and want to live in it for a while. Does anyone know of a fair priced campground there that allows monthly rentals? I've looked at a few and the prices are like 400+ a month. Where it's at now is 300 a month without sewer and 350 with sewer. I was hoping for a 300 dollar a month site. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  • $400 a month sounds low cost for Columbia. If you need lower cost real estate, consider Camden or Sumter (there could still be some lower level trailer parks around Shaw). Real estate values start dropping 30-40 miles outside Columbia, but then you must weigh additional cost of the commute.

Trailer parks that take RVs usually have lower long term rates than RV parks or campgrounds.
  • 415 a month seems like a lot compared to what I am paying now. I gotta call the woodsmoke place tomorrow and check prices I guess. No one knows of any other cheaper places?
  • Check Barnyard, there are a few long term people there, nice place. It is listed under Lexington, a few miles from Columbia. The monthly rate is 415 for full hook up with 30 amps and 435 for 50 amp.
  • We have stayed at Barnyard RV Park in Lexington right off of I-20 just behind the flea market. We were only there over a weekend but I'm pretty sure there were long term people there. Don't know about the price.
  • The only one I know of (That I would stay at) is Woodsmoke Campground off the peak exit on I26. Don't know the cost but has been there a long time.
