Los Ebanos ferry

Does anyone know if the hand drawn ferry is still operating at Los Ebanos?

It still operates. However, there is now a border station right there. You can walk down to the water to watch, but you must have a passport to get back. The old farts at the "kiosk" take your money to go down to the water and tell you that you don't need a passport, etc., but they are not the border agents. In fact, I think they may not have any affiliation except to take $$ from stupid people (like me).

We were there last year and it was a go...those guys get paid $3/day. One guy's been doing it going on 23 years now.....Dennis
