We go through that way a couple times a year and stay at Grandma's RV Park (Shepherdsville, KY). It is not fancy, has lots of long term campers, but it is clean with full hookups and about $30 per night. Grandpa has rules he expects to be followed, especially concerning pets and disconnecting water in freezing temps. Lots of info on RVPARKEVIEWS.COM

While on business in Louisville I stayed right across the river in Clarksville, In. See link. This campground is less than 3 miles from downtown.

We stayed in Bardstown at My Old Kentucky Home State Park. In the heart of the bourbon trail and a very nice location. Close to Louisville, Lexington, and Frankfort.

My only suggestion is to have a 25 foot extension cord for your service. Kentucky Parks put their utilities at a location between two sites, so that a normal length of service will not reach. Same with water hook-up. Not a problem, just an inconvience.
