I'd go with the recommendations of some of the other posts and check rvparkreviews.com, to see what would meet your needs. If you're just looking for a place to crash for the night and will be at your soft ball tourney most of the time, some of the "lesser" parks could suffice.

I'd have to agree that Riverview is the best in the area, but as stated, it's not looking like they will be able to open this year. As an alternative, take a look at the Carter Valley CG. It's on US 34 west of town and may work for you.

There's also the St Vrain State Park to check out in Longmont, along I-25 at exit 240/the Del Camino exit for Longmont. Might still be able to get a reservation there. If it's got space available for your dates, it would be a good alternative, and is just down the road from Loveland, a very easy drive.

The remaining parks in the area, in my opinion, will be hit or miss. There's some County Parks that you could also check, but they don't meet your needs for laundry facilities; good other facilities though, at Horsetooth Reservoir/South Bay area.

There's 3 KOA's in the Fort Collins/Wellington area, but they are going to be further north than what you'll probably want.
  • RiverView RV Park will NOT be open in 2014 due to last years' flooding.
  • Our favorite one in Loveland is Riverview but they were hit hard by the flood and not sure if they are open. So I was going to suggest Boyd Lake but ......

KOA in Ft. Collins - there used to be two of them, we stayed at Lakeside - is an option but a very long 12 miles to Loveland as they are on the north side of Ft. Collins.

July 4th you will have a hard time finding one now I am afraid.

    Good luck.

For the 4th of July you should have reservations already, especially in the state park. You might check with Riverview RV Park as they were flooded out last September but might be open by July.

Boyd Lake State Park. Lovely place right in Loveland and it has Laundry facilities. Website

We wanted to stay here but it's book!
  • Here is a link to RV Reviews for Loveland: Loveland RV Reviews. We have taken our grandkids to the Lakeside KOA in Fort Collins which is about 12 miles from Loveland, and although it is expensive, it is a nice park. There is one really negative review on that park and it seems to be about the cost of using the facilities.
