Many thanks to the Layton Florida Vol. FD's

We had a pleasant surprise last evening here at Long Key State Park in the Florida Keys.
Just after dark we heard all kinds of sirens and figured there must be a big wreck out on the highway.
Then the sirens and flashing lights got closer and it was a Christmas parade coming right through the campground with all their fire engines, and rescue squad with Christmas carols playing and topped off with Santa and Mrs Claus on top of the biggest one wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

So many thanks to the City of Layton

  • That was nice, they thought about the campers and travelers.
  • That would have been lots of fun.
We experienced something similar a few years ago. We were at a Family Campers and RVers National Rally and one night they had a noise parade through the town. The following night after most campers had gone to bed, the fire department got back at us and drove their trucks through the campground with their sirens going full blast. It sure got everyone up to see what was going on and gave us all a good laugh and a gotcha!
