What a wonderful trip. They put us in a really bad site, surrounded by rental units (empty) felt like a parking lot. Grass needed mowing and ants everywhere. Day two, power goes out and stays out for 12 hours, Fun, Fun! Day three, talked them into letting us move. We have a site three spots back from the ocean. Have a 5'ver next door who pulled up right next to our picnic shelter then put his slides out. Apparently he did this at the beginning of the season and rented the spot for the rest of the year. Day 4, Hurricane Michel hit FL, and we are getting the tides and rain that came with him. Those of you who know the campground, know there are two cuts thru the dunes that you can access with your beach wagons and fishing carts, we are next to one. It flooded the campground. Day 5, did I say it flooded the campground yesterday, I stand corrected. Water was up each road at least 4 sites. But the foam created by the surf was building up behind me, got about 3 feet deep, wind blowing 40-50 miles an hour, back of MH covered, Jeep covered, everyone coming by to take pictures of the flooding, the sea foam and us. Oh what a good time we are having! Tonight the sun came out, the wind died down, I hosed everything down and raked the debris from the waterline. You know it's really kind of pretty around here. Forecast says nice weather for the next 7-10 days....Think I'll hang around.
