Memphis in August
DW wants to go to Memphis this August to see Elvis house and to sample some of the best barbeque restaurants. My question is were would be a good place to camp and what are some of the best places to eat?

Our favorite BBQ is Central BBQ. Try their BBQ nachos and ribs - yum!
An alternative to camping in the Memphis area is to stay in a COE park - Hernando Point which is just across the border in MS. It is about a 30 minute drive in but more like camping and less like an RV park.

Free warning, while purchasing Graceland tour tickets, think about how big of a fan of Elvis you are. Elvis died before I was born, but I still enjoy his music and enjoy history. However, after a tour of the home, the racquet ball building, the gravesite, the grounds of Graceland, business office, the two planes, the buildings across the street housing vehicles, etc. we were both Elvis'ed out. If I never see another piece of Elvis memorabila, I'll be ok with that as I'm pretty sure I've seen about 4 lifetimes worth.
So, big fan? maybe do them all.
Not such a big fan? Maybe just tour the Mansion...- Camp right across the street from Graceland and eat with the pink limo.

- Easy drive from Tom Sawyer to the be E's place in Memphis. Check my photolink in my signature. I have an album of pictures from Tom Sawyer RV park.
- We did the same as JayPat- Graceland rv park and did the pink cadillac deal too. It was all fine and dandy. This Tom Sawyer thing sounds real good too and will try that next time. Graceland park worked well though. Nothing wrong with that park, people were nice, spots were appropriate size, the power was fine even tho it was hot and everyone was running their ac. Could not be handier for everything Elvis. Free shuttle from the hotel next door took us downtown. All good.

Had free Pink Limo (older limo not a stretch), pick us up to go eat BBQ.

- When we're in Memphis, our favorite BBQ place is Interstate Barbque. Not to far from Graceland.
