Mesa Verde national park.

We plane to do this park in the next month, with our 40' coach. and Jeep. the question is how are the roads after the winter, will they accommodate The coach?

We will be entering from the northwest ?? best way?
  • Additionally, some of the best tours aren't available until summer. Just a consideration.
  • Just spent a day at Mesa Verde this week. Most roads and trails and facilities are closed until at least April 1. Road to Chapin Mesa was open and bare and dry. Check the park website for restrictions. Trailers and towed vehicles are not allowed There is a parking lot near the visitor center where they can be left.
  • Morefield campground in the park has 15 full hookups big enough for your MH. Try for a reservation. There are also many dry camping sites.

Here is the park's web site with lots of good information including the bright red 'Alert' at the top of the page.

Definitely take one of the park ranger's tours to the ruins. It will be so much more enjoyable for you.

As far as the weather, keep checking conditions as you travel. It does change. Have a great trip!
  • Are you going to stay at the NP or stay at commercial down on the bottom?
Main highway should be good but up on the mountain could have rocks on roadway.
