Mile High Campground Cherokee, NC (Pics)
This past 4th of July, got to enjoy a stay at Mile High Campground, Cherokee, NC. One of our favorites in the Smokey Mtns and Southeast!
With elevation, temps only low 70's as a high during the day, nights low 50's and even one night high 40's (great camping weather)!
This campground is approximately 11 miles up the Blue Ridge Parkway out of Cherokee, NC. Mix of sites, many will accomodate RV's, many tent only, several with great views of the Smokey's. Very rustic cabins available.
The camping season is from May 15th thru October 15.
Amenities :Primitive Camping - No hook ups (electricity or water) available at campsite (Limited generator use- rule).
Secluded Sites
Tents, pop-ups, trailers, and RVs
Bunkhouse cabins available
Clean bathrooms with Hot Showers
Firewood
Mile High Campground Site
Elk are frequent visitors in the campground, in fact we had one go through some of our stuff, one morning!
Short Drive to Soco Falls:
Great nature, great temps, unbelievable views, nice staff, quiet, relaxing, will definitely go back!!!
