Moth Infestation

This is an alert to those traveling just east of Colorado into Kansas. We stopped on June 8th in Wakeeney, KS at the KOA campground. When we went in to register the person in the office had all the lights off and was working in the dark. I assumed it was to keep the 95 degree heat down. It was not. We didn't notice anything unusual that night. The next morning we had moths in the motor home. The more we drove, the more moths came out. I'm not talking about a dozen, I'm talking thousands. We stopped the following night & opened the bays. Thousands upon thousands came swarming out. They came inside through the slides or any way the could & the motor home had thousands inside. For every one we got rid of 20 more appeared. They were hiding in the blinds, curtains, window frames, under pillows, chairs, any crevice they could find.We vacuumed them out of the air,did everything to get them out and still we have hundreds. The CG obviously knew about this and said nothing. Just an alert for others planning to stay here.
  • Yup - here in Colorado it's Miller Time! :B

So far it has not been as bad as most years, but it could get worse!! :)
  • Yep, mostly likely Miller Moths. Took a little getting used to, when we moved to Colorado. They won't last long. Couple of weeks, I think.

It's Feast Time for the birds. :)
