Mr Bud's Campground, GA

Anyone have any experience, knowledge of a campground called Mr Bud's Campground? I was google mapping and ran across this name: Mr Bud's Campground, 7796 Highway 197 North, Clarkesville, GA 30523 about 4 miles south of Moccasin Creek SP. Found little or next to no info about it, RVReviews had nothing that I could find. Google Earth was a shot in the dark as to exactly where it is. Am interested in it, cause it's in a great area that we want to visit this fall and most other parks fill up fast and we're not reservation type people, unless need be.
Thanks and also open to other spots in that area.
  • I thought it was listed as a PassPort America affiliated campground, but now I can't find the link to verify that. PA does not list it, that I could find. And that was my interest as I am contemplating joining PA and going to that area.
    Thanks for all the input.
  • Mr Bud's is a trailer park, full of permanents that have all sorts of shelters and such built on it. I would not stay there.
If it is closed I have not noticed. Want to experience that area, try Moccasin Creek SP just on up the road and on the lake

I Googled Mr. Bud's Campground, came up in Clarkesville, GA....clicked on that, saw 5 stars....hmmmm, then saw Permanently Closed.

Mountain City, GA has a nice cg, Cross Creek. About 2 miles north of Clayton.

River Vista in Dillard is also nice.

    Yep, Mr. Bud's is closed.
Cross Creek in Mountain City, GA is nice.

A few miles north of Mountain City, GA we liked Franklin RV Park in Franklin, NC better. Nice quiet cg with plenty of trees and grass. Easy in and out. If you stay there, we recommend you go into Franklin to the Scottish Tartans Museum. Nice little venue in the old downtown.

River Vista in Dillard we felt like we were in a crowded parking lot. Never going back.

I searched on Google for 'Mr Bud's campground' and found some good info - then zoomed down on it from the map for it and found it was on a Island named BILLY GOAT ISLAND. Zoomed on down and did not see any roads going to the Island. It even had a FACEBOOK page...

Then I found out I was looking at a different Mr Bud's Campground haha...

    Quit searching after that...
