Must see and do in Wisconsin

Hello everyone and thank you advance for your input.

We have never explored Wisconsin and are heading there in July/August on our cross country trip this summer. We can have a few weeks to a month there and would like to get suggestions for what are must see places and must do things. We love to sight-see (especially unusual and kitschy things), go to factory tours, hike, bicycle ride, love anything food and beer.

In addition to what is suggested we do want to check out Milwaukee, Green Bay and Madison. I hear you can get a cheese hat there.

Looking forward to seeing the great things there!

If you like things that fly, south of Green Bay is Oshkosh home of the Experimental Aviation Museum
North of there, Union Star Cheese Factory which offer tours and of course Cheese!

Elroy Sparta bike trail is cool for biking and you can stay at the tunnel trail inn campground. Boulder Junction area in Northern WI is one of my fav areas and there are tons of lakes to explore (checkout the Crystal/Firefly lake area). Door County all the way down the lake to Milwaukee, any of the state parks along the lake are worth the stop. Wisconsin Dells has a lot of nature if you look and also a huge tourist area. Mirror lake is the place to stay in that area and for one of a kind supper club stop at Ishnala. Summerfest may be going on in Milwaukee and if music is your thing it might be right up your alley. I'm out exploring the area just about every weekend so if you have any other ? let me know. Also I post a bunch on Instagram Van_Camp_WI and you can see some pics there of the above places.

As suggested, Hayward area, Minocqua area, check out Apostle Islands. For real touristy stuff go to the Wisconsin Dells, lots to see and do, I recommend Stand Rock Campground. Lots of other things to see and do. Miller Brewery has a great tour. The list is endless!

While you are waiting I would send for the various Wisconsin Visitor's Guides. We spend a week in Door County each year. They have their own VG.
Really good biking in Door County if that's your thing.
And, of course, there is always the Packers Hall of Fame in Green Bay!
