Myrtle Beach area fishing

Hello! We will be spending a week or so in the Myrtle Beach area this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for a fishing charter outfit? There seems to be plenty of choices online, but I was looking for real opinions. Thanks!
  • There are large bottom fishing head boats out of Little River. Pretty much all the same I think. These are not really charter boats since you will be one of many on the boat fighting for a good spot. They are the less expensive option. Just don't go on a rough water day as you will be stuck till they come in, not a pretty site if people are seasick.

Not familiar with true charters in MB but here is a link to people who know how to fish, just over the line in NC. http://www.oifc.com/ They are not cheap but can hook you up. If you are coming in July / August consider an inshore fishing trip. The water offshore is so warm then fishing can be tough. Best in spring / early Summer or Fall / late summer, unless you want to catch sharks which you can do in hot months ok, just would not want to pay 800.00 to catch sharks. Also, on their website, they have good info in the fishing reports section and in the ask a captain section. I think you can look at a history from last year and see what was biting during the time frame you will be here. I drool at the fishing reports section all the time! Good luck
  • we used to go out on some from Murells Inlet on the south end and up around Little River on the north end. can't remember any names. Maybe Hurricane on Little River boat. I think most are the same and do a good business so they must be pretty good
