We're somewhat surprised that nobody mentioned Myrtle Beach State Park. When you enter the park, you're far from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach itself, but when you reach Hwy. 17, you're close enough to all the attractions. The only downside of MBSP is that it's quite close to the airport, so there's some plane noise mainly during the daytime. MBSP is well maintained, has wi-fi, and a short bike ride will take you to a Food Lion opposite the park entrance. The sites vary in size but are considerably larger than the private parks in Myrtle Beach.
