Parks only or do national lakeshores and military parks count?
We've been to: Mammoth Cave National Park Smoky Mountains National Park Cuyahoga Valley National Park Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Point Park National Military Park Chickamauga National Military Park
Favorites were Mammoth Cave, Smoky Mountains and Cuyahoga Valley. Least favorites were Sleeping Bear Dunes and Chickamauga. Future wish list includes: Yellowstone, Everglades, Acadia, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Arches and Bryce Canyon.
Of the current 59, I've managed to visit 36 in my first 50 years. I'd have more except I have a habit of going back to my favorites over and over, like my 6th trip to Yellowstone this summer.
Of the remaining on my bucket list, Glacier Bay, Katmai, and Dry Torugas top the list
Point Reyes NS, Redwood NP, Crater Lake NP, Death Valley NP, Joshua Tree NP, Muir Woods NM, Sequoia NP, Yosemite NP, Oregon Caves NM, North Cascades NP, Glacier NP, Grand Tetons NP, Yellowstone NP, Haleakala NP.
We just got home from a 24 day, 3600 mile trip. Traveling thru 16 states, we only added one new national park.... Acadia in Maine. However, we spent 4 days in DC and went to all the National Monuments. We have now been to 40 of our 48 lower states. This was a great trip thru New England.....but no grits anywhere!!
