Need help finding Florida campground

We just got an opportunity to get away from the Northeast winter for a few weeks. We are hoping to head south to Florida for a couple of weeks or so but are having a hard time finding a campground. We are looking to head to the west coast, or even the Keys, and need a place beginning March 10 for at least a couple of weeks (or more). Is anyone staying at a campground anywhere that has any openings? I know this is a last minute thing and most places are booked, but was hoping someone may know of a place. Thanks in advance for your help!
  • John pennycamp mile maker 113 on key hwy. You can look up Florida state parks. Type dates you want and all the parks in those dates with open sites will come up with a map
  • Openings here in Red Oaks in Bushnell. Also, Ja-Mar over in Port Richey also had quite a few openings as of this past Sunday.

Sun-n-Shade in Punta Gorda also had openings.
  • A place to land for a few days might be the KOA in Apopka. We were able to get a site for this weekend and didn't book it until about 2 weeks ago. Have been there before, and it is an okay place.
  • Thank you all for the good suggestions. I'll give them a shot and hopefully will find something, even it means moving around a bit, which I really don't mind. Thanks again all!
  • There are quite a few RV parks here in the Bushnell area that may have openings for you. Blueberry Hill, Florilow Oaks and Escapees park are the only one I know by name but we've had quite a few big ones pop-up in the last few years so its hard to imagine them all being full.
  • March 10-19 is Bike Week in Daytona. It fills up Central Florida to Orlando to St. Augustine to Cocoa. About 500,000.

You should be able to get into Rock Crusher in Crystal River.

Parts South will be hard to find until April.
  • You may not find a single campsite for the entire length of time, how about shorter stays and multiple campgrounds? You might have better success. It just means moving every few days or so. But think of all the different places you could see?
  • go to ReserveAmerica.com and look for State Parks. Keep searching as people are always canceling spots.
  • The Gulf Coast and St. Augustine area should be pretty nice in March.
  • Try Sun and Fun in Sarasota..

or in the keys try - Boyds... Jolly Roger... Blue Water Key RV Resort...

Good Luck, it is last minute/prime time for down there
