need help
We are fixing to travel from Fl to AZ. Any good places to stay or avoid would be appreciated.

After going through El Paso once on I-10 during road construction we gave up on it, we now leave Van Horn and go north towards Gauadaloupe Mountains and then west where we hit the 375 loop on the east part of El Paso and then back onto I-10, we then head for Deming NM. You go over Franklin Mountain in El Paso but it isn't a big hill. The drive is very scenic looking at the Guad mountains in the distance
i’m assuming you mean Tx54/US 180/Tx375 back to I-10. what are those roads like? 2-lane, 4-lane? condition?
54 and 180 are 2 lane, 54 has a couple of dips that you need to slow down a bit, but well marked. 180 is also 2 lane but they have put in a couple of passing lanes recently, 375 is a divided 4 lane. They are not busy and passing is easy, much less of a hassle than I-10 through El Paso proper.

Yes, the road conditions are excellent, no potholes or broken pavement, the same or better quality as the interstates. We also used to take 180 from Carlsbad NM through to El Paso, it is good, except for the oil rig truck activity around Carlsbad.
