We are picking up a new 43' Landmark fifth wheel in Eugene, Oregon in mid July and, after a little vacation, towing it to it's permanent home, in an RV park near Palm Springs. I currently tow a 36' Carriage Cameo, and do pretty good maneuvering that around. I am concerned about the ability to fit this 43' trailer in to RV parks on this trip. When I talk to the RV parks, and they say they can take a rig this size, I suspect that what they really mean, is they have a site that is more than 43' long. I worry about tight turns, and getting in and out of the site. With that in mind, I'd appreciate some help finding RV parks that will work for us on this trip.
1. We need a site for July 8th and 9th (Saturday and Sunday) near Eugene. Armitage was our first choice, but they are already full. Any other recommendations?
2. I have reservations for 5 nights after that at the Premier RV Resort in Lincoln City, space #73. After looking at Google Earth, I do not think I can get my rig around those tight turns and into that space. I am considering cancelling this reservation and going to Champoeg State Park, since I don't see any better alternatives along the coast near Lincoln City. Any suggestions?
3. From there we are going to Coquille River RV Park for 4 nights, and I don't see any problems fitting in there.
4. Next, one night at Seven Feathers, one night at Durango in Red Bluff, one night at Orange Grove in Bakersfield, and then on to Palm Springs. I don't see problems fitting in any of these places. Am I correct on this?
I would appreciate any help you might offer, on this, my first post after reading this forum for over a decade. Yikes!
