New Campground Near Charlotte, NC???

We just stayed at Tom Johnson's for a week and it was fine. Close to everything Nascar and close to plenty of shopping and eating places. We were there after the Charlotte 600 and there were only about 20-25 rigs there.

I drive by it all the time. Have not been in it, but it appears they built a new bath house and office. But the sites and residents have not changed. Still mostly local contractors and no amenities that I can see. KOA in Fort Mill, Carowinds or Andrew Jackson State Park are better options if you need to be near Pineville/Charlotte

hey...look at Ebenezer state park..lake Wylie..my husband built this park..it's not far from Charlotte and it's nice.

Some KOAs will let you make back to back reservations if they trust that you won't set up permanent residency there.

The KOA will not take reservations for a month long stay and we plan to stay a month or so.

Haven't heard of a new CG near Charlotte, but if you want a place to set up, try Fort Mill KOA if you're on the South side of town or Tom Johnson CG if you're on the North side of town.
We've stayed at the KOA. Not too bad for a base camp when visiting Charlotte. Tom Johnson is next to Charlotte Motor Speedway and a drag strip. Nothing fancy, just an open area with pull through full hook ups. If you're there when they're racing, it is loud, especially at the drag strip.

I may need to do a drive through....

Didn't get very good reviews...
