New Orleans Campgrond Recommendation

Will be arriving NOLA on 12/28/16 for a couple days. Any good campground?

Thanx
  • KOA West = quiet residential area; very helpful staff; daily shuttle to the French Qtr; about 25 minutes from the French Qtr.
  • Thanx for all the suggestions. Very Much appreciated.
To answer some questions of the different places we requested campground info about is easy. We are just traveling through these areas trying to get to No. Fort Meyers for January 1stish, 2017. We will be in Florida for two months, but this year we need to go from New Hampshire to St. Charles, MO first. The long way around. So, we thought we might stop in a couple other places after leaving St. Charles to get to Florida.
  • We always stay at Bayou Segnette State Park, which is directly across the river from NOLA. it's not only a nice campground at a reasonable price, it's also just a short drive away from a ferry that takes you across the river to the junction of th Frenh Quarter and the Arts District. Can't be beat if the purpose of the visit is to do the town. We'll be spending a few days there in January on our winter travels through southern Texas and the desert southwest.

We enjoy staying at Pontchatrain Landing. (SP?)It is safe as well as reasonable for New Orleans and is a great location being on the water. Only a 15 minute drive to the French Quarter. They also have a shuttle to the French Quarter. You have picked a very expensive weekend to visit New Orleans as the Sugar Bowl plays on January 2. You will not find a site in NO for less then $100 per night on this weekend. We will be there in late January. Enjoy!
