Niagara Falls, NY State Park info needed

For those of you who have been there, is it possible to walk to all the attractions and not take the trolley? I haven't been able to find any information about the size/distance of the area.
We are planning a visit and will have a dog with who won't be allowed on the trolley. Long story on why she has to come with and not be left in the RV....

I forgot about the Canadian side of the falls. The view is a bit better from the Canadian side but you have to park a distance away. We went to look at the falls in the evening but at 9:45pm we decided to go back to camp. It was so crowded with people pushing to get to the railing for a better look, My wife with mobility issues almost got knocked over a couple of times. The traffic on the Canadian side was terrible. The businesses were pretty tacky tourist traps.
I agree that the NY side was very parklike.

While true that some of the views from Canada are better, we found that the Canadian side seemed more commercialized, and the US side was more of a State Park setting, (which it is) unless you get away from the river.

It is important to realize there are two sides t the falls. The Canada side has much better views. I don't know what issues you may run into if trying to cross the border with the dog, but if you are going to Niagara you don't want to miss it from the other side. Like someone said above, it would be worth it to use a boarder for a day.

When we went, we boarded the dog for the day in Rochester and drove to NF. We enjoyed it much more knowing the dog was comfortable and safe.

My wife and I walked from the trailer parking lot on Goat Island to all of the attractions. We did take the trolly back to the TV/TT when we were done. We walked about 2 miles one way. If you want to see everything, you may as well walk one way otherwise you will be getting off the trolly at almost every stop and waiting to get back on the next trolly. You will spend more time waiting than walking. I did the measurement using the Google distance measurement feature but that would have been my guess without it.
I agree that I didn't see any dogs and they are NOT allowed in any buildings or attractions.

Trolly yes, Dog no. It wouldn't be safe for the dog as they pack people in like sardines and he/she would be stepped on and hurt. Even the attractions would be difficult for a dog. Maid of the Mist is bumper to bumper people. Cave of the Winds you need to take an elevator. We were there last June and I don't recall seeing any dogs at all. Maybe now is not the time for Niagara. What about going to one of the lakes

I know someone will have to stay outside of the attractions with her.
