I have read some previous posts but did not hear much about the closest one.. Niagara Falls campground and lodging. Any opinions on this? We are heading up there to see the falls, then moving on. Will not be spending time "relaxing" at any campground.

Thanks for your input.... We do like full hook ups also

We stayed there several years ago, and found it to be clean and well maintained. Sites are pretty close together, but we used it just as you're proposing to do, so wasn't a big deal. It is probably 4-5 miles to the falls, iirc, so not really as close as I had thought.

The Canadian side is a must see. It is much more impressive vue than the US. You will not be sorry.

I agree that Four Mile Creek SP is very nice, and in fact it's our favorite for longer term stays in that area. The OP should note though, that the hookups are electric only, with water and dump stations available, just not at each site.

We liked Branches of Niagara. Short drive to the falls. There is a toll bridge one way $1.00 when we were there.

What ever you do or wherever you stay make sure you go to the falls at night and try to see them from the Canada side if you can.

It has the needs for visiting Niagra Falls. It is not a resort. Nice and quiet.
There is some sites that are occupied by full time residents. We had no problems with that. they left for work quietly. We were on the other side of park.
Easy drive straight into Niagra Falls park area.
If you have passport or enhanced driver's liscense, spend at least a little time on the Canadian side.

Thanks all, we are really looking forward to this summer. The wife and I have never been and the kids are very excited . How was the above? That seems to be the best for our needs. We really will just be in and out, spending the days out and about then leaving... Over to NYC, liberty state park!

Were there 5 yrs ago, we used it for the same idea as a home base type place... we found the place maintained, no thrills, bathrooms were clean, sites were narrow but long. owners/staff were not the most personable.
Most people we noticed were using the place for the same idea. We though the place was a little above average

we stayed at the cinderella camp and motel. It was an ok to park, Had full hookups, we wouldn't had stayed, if we were looking for than a parking spot. Saw the KOA looks like a nice park. enjoy yourselfs.
If we ever go back, we would try the state park

Staying at Four Mile Creek SP qualifies you for free parking at the falls next to the pedestrian bridge.

I stayed at a kOA on the US side, not the closest but not too far. had a shuttle to the falls if desired.
