Nice and Relatively New Far West Chicago 'Burbs Campground
I am just ending a 7 night stay at a relatively new public campground in the far west suburbs of Chicago - Kane County Forest Preserve - Big Rock Campground. Electric/water at sites, dump on the way out. Nice toilet houses. No showers available. Been open about a year - 96 campsites (developed). No reservations - first come/first served - 14 night max stay.
Kane County Residents = $15/night
Others = $25/night
Very nice and makes a trip to my old homeland much more doable! There's also another one (which I have not yet visited) up near Elgin.
