Oklahoma City Area suggestions

We travel to Oklahoma City, to see the WCWS in late May and first week of June these past 6 years, we have stayed at Twin Fountains camp grounds. But in their wisdom, they reserved the spots for the next year 1 year in advance to the day. My fault. I assumed if we got there Wednesday, and asked about making reservations Thursday, for the 2018 playoffs we'd be good. Nope.

We are looking for a new camping place that others have stayed at for the WCWS or something SAFE in that area. A google search these past few months is sorta scary with the exception of the " Roadrunner" grounds west of the city.

any hints would be of help.
TIA

There is a koa on the east side of town. It would be about 15 mils to the wcws site. It is actually in Choctaw just off I40.

Hello, here is what I can tell you about OKC , I live here, that be said.
Know some fellow club members that has stayed at currently at Roadrunner, they say they had no problem there. Park was leveled or part of it was during violent tornado awhile back. They rebuilt since, does not have everything that Twin Fountains has but also not the price either.

If want in Mustang OK there is fairly new park call Mustang Run, easy to get to short 10 minute drive West on I-40 from down town. They are set up similar to TF about same cost. Nice place although never been there sets off right I-40 so noise could be a issue.

There is a couple others off I-40 but don't recommend. Hope this helps.

You might check out Lake Arcadia which is run by the city of Edmond. 10 - 15 miles north of the stadium on I-35 then a couple miles east of the interstate. Not as convenient as Twin Fountains but they are nice campgrounds in a safe area.
