- donn0128Explorer IISouth beach is also a very busy park. I have been told by rangers there that they do have some problems with theft.
- lanerdExplorer IIWe spend our summers in Newport and have driven through South Beach a couple of times. Seems like a nice park, close to the beach and South Beach Fish Market (best halibut fish & chips on the coast). I would think that if you can still make reservations, you better do it quick.
Ron - rhagfoExplorer IIISouth Beach is a very nice park, but busy as all coastal parks during the summer.
It is nicely wind protected by a couple of large dunes between the beach and the Campground. They have a nice 9 hole Disk Golf course also.
If you come early June they may have a few more midweek sites available as Portland schools need to makeup nine lost days for snow. - Mr_BigglesExplorerStayed there July 2015. Very nice park. Enjoyed our visit. Book early !
- goldsp8ExplorerI would not hesitate to stay in South Beach. As was said, if you can get a reservation, get it soon.
- goducks10ExplorerBe wary of the inside sites. Most are at a 90* angle and short. Other than that we've been there many times. Usually only if Beverly Beach is booked. You're still only minutes from town. If you can check out Nana's. Great food.

X2 to Nana's! and a short 2 mile hike or bike ride to the Rouge Brewery & distillery!
Yes, but I have seen some pretty big rigs squeezed in to those sites during the Newport Seafood and Wine fest. - lanerdExplorer III love Nana's Bangers and Mash!

Probably because it's just a blacktop parking lot.
