Pet Friendly Beach Parks

Can anyone recommend a beach destination that is pet friendly? Nice RV park on or nearby. All states, locations.

Point Lookout SP, Maryland has two dog beaches. This is at the point where the Potomac River runs into the Chesapeake Bay.

Long Beach in Washington state. Miles of sandy beach on the Pacific Ocean. You can stay at Cape Disappointment State Park just down the road where the Pacific meets the Columbia River.

Pensacola Beach has a dog beach right outside the gate of Ft. Pickens, one of my favorite campgrounds.

We were at Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina and you can take dogs on the beach at least in the off season.Also Kiptopeke SP in Virginia.

Are you looking for a spot where you camp near the beach or a spot where you camp near a good doggie swim spot?

Molly our Golden Retriever has been swimming in 24 different states. Some of the places for camping near a doggie swim spot that come to mind include -

We camp at PA state parks with our lab with 6 ft leash laws in effect. However in the water we areallowed to use a 25ft floating leash when swimming. Common sense to not do this near a swim beach or populated area.

We agree with Hunting Island. We have labs and when we had two, who are now deceased, we would go up on the north end, also. We got caught by the ranger, but he just told us not to do that anymore...we didn't. I would guess that 95% of the people camping there have dogs with them. It's amazing how many you see.

Also, James Island County Park outside of Charleston has a great dog park that is on a peninsula, so the boundaries are water. Dogs can swim, splash, run, etc. It's great.

We stay at St. Joseph Peninsula State park. Gulf loop is very close to the ocean. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach within the state park, but are allowed on the rest of the island at all beaches.
