- Mr_BeeboExplorerJust got back from Huntington Beach State Park south of Myrtle Beach. The beach there on the campground side is very nice and uncrowded. We drove thru the downtown area one night after dinner and didn't bother stopping. I agree about the comment regarding the area. Nice hotels and places to eat, but a lot of drunks and youngsters crowding the sidewalks, jaywalking and buzzing around on rented scooters. I'd go back for the Ocean; the strip not so much.
- wbwoodExplorerIf people want seedy beach towns then they need to go up to Carolina Beach, NC....matter of fact, park your RV on the grass at Winners RV Park (if thats what you wanna call it). But the best part is Britt's Donuts. We will drive out there for those....yum yum yum
- wbwoodExplorerTerryallan what fish camp back home do you go to? Looking for a good one..
We like Bubba's Fish Shack in Surfside http://www.bubbasfishshack.com
Our favorite used to be Drunken Jacks in Murrels Inlet. Dinners close to the $20 plate range, but what we didn't like was the 1-2 hour wait unless you are there right at 4pm. And 4pm is too early for dinner for us....especially when on vacation. lol - CampingN_C_ExplorerThere was excellent seafood this year at MBTP, site 28 !! AKA my front porch ! ;)

Terryallan is correct about the seafood in that area. Most of it ain't fit to eat and overpriced. Hard to beat a good piece of carp.
My fav is Fillet of Flounder. With the greasy black skin removed. I won't eat it if that is left on. - DURACOExplorerTerryallan is correct about the seafood in that area. Most of it ain't fit to eat and overpriced. Hard to beat a good piece of carp.

MOST times when we go to a MB campground, we never leave except for maybe 1 night to eat seafood out somewhere and maybe go to Broadway at the beach. Sometimes we eat at one of the many places there.
Strange. In all the years we have been going to different beaches. We have NEVER found any decent seafood. None can compare with the fish camps around here. Even though there are less, and less of them now days.
So Terry I guess we'll have to keep eating indecent seafood! :B
