Pleasant Valley Campground in Tillamook

Having just returned from a great vacation on the Oregon Coast, I feel it necessary to relay our thoughts on the Pleasant Valley Campground in Tillamook, Oregon. Over the years we've stayed there and enjoyed it, but now as in the past the rabbits have multiplied beyond cute. A person cannot walk anywhere and avoid walking in rabbit pellets. It's not fun to bring in to the trailer. Not only are they everywhere in walking areas but also within the kids playground. If I had little children I wouldn't want them playing in the sand filled with droppings. In addition to this the wi-fi connection is iffy and you had better be patient to get connected. I'm surprised Good Sam has not required this place to clean up.
  • So....a campground can control wildlife? Interesting. However...post your review on RVPARKREVIEWS.com

See what others are saying, too.
  • I think the owners used to encourage rabbits - sounds like things have gotten out of hand.
  • So....a campground can control wildlife?

Actually, yes. In most states they can get permits or already have defacto permission to control "nuisance" wildlife. They can also contact their local Fish & Wildlife office to get help. Too much animal poop can cause a host of health issues and degrade water quality.
  • The don't even have a rating given on Good Sam so I doubt they much care
  • First of All... These are not wildlife. The rabbits are tame let loose and you know what rabbit do... Multiply. And yes the Owner encourages the rabbits and makes it clear to those not only that live permanently at the campground but to visitors also that the rabbits are not to disappear. They're cute !!!!
May I also add.... When checking in, if you have a dog... where the pet area is. THat's fine and typical. We always clean up after ours. BUT... the Owners... have two standard poodles.. that wander freely and dump freely, not to be picked up after.
We doubt if we'll return. Will make reservations early in the year elsewhere. It's fishing season out there in the fall and hard to find spots.
  • Welcome to the forum. Its to bad your very first post is a unpleasant experience. I truly hope RVing gets better for you and you are able to find a campground without rabbits.
  • Interesting... I went there in 2007 and Pleasant Valley Campground is the only RV park in the last 14 years that I registered, went to my campsite, went back to the office and got my money back without even shutting the engine off. Never saw a rabbit probably because the weeds were too tall. What a dump and fire hazard.
  • we have stayed there with out a problem. the rabbits seem to be in the front of the park where the permanent residents are. toward the rear we had no rabbits for the week we were there.
