Nice area, but like any island you'll have a couple cons that you don't have inland. First is humidity, you might have to get a humidifier to feel comfortable in your RV. Second is fog/mist. Some days it might linger around till 10am or so. Third is salt damage. This will be more extensive then you might think so be prepared to either live with it, fix it, or try to combat it.
A very general rule of thumb is after five winters on a TX Gulf island most dealers won't give you trade in value for your rig if you don't do anything to it. If you plan on spending a whole winter ask your neighbors what they do to stay ahead of the salt.
