Room down south

We have relatives that visit from Australia for Christmas so we get a late start every year. How much trouble will we have finding a spot this year?? Like it around the Ocala- Tampa area. Anyone already there see any open spots?
  • Yeah, we did the winter with no long-term reservations and had a tough time finding anything reasonably priced south of I-4 in January. We were going out the panhandle anyway and onto RGV, so we just went north early. Ocala area and the forgotten coast parks seem to have sites available.
  • I've been coming down for 6 years and have never made reservations!:W

You will find plenty of spots open around just 'outside' west and southwest of the ocala area. Search bushnell, dunnellon, crystal river area. And don't be afraid to call elsewhere there are cancellations all the time and the CG's want those filled up!
  • I assume you're looking for an RV site? You shouldn't have a big problem for areas north of I-4, but don't delay any further. You might want to narrow down your potential locations. I'd use RV Park Reviews.com to research possible RV parks in the areas you're interested and then start calling.

Look for cities/towns along the left side of the page or use the map to zoom in on areas of interest. Good luck.

Check out Olde Mill RV Park in Umatilla, FL. Also, check around Bushnell, FL for possible parks.

We're leaving this coming Saturday for a 3 month stay north of Tampa along the coast. We made reservations on our site last February.
  • Try Quail Run RV Resort in Wesley Chapel (near Tampa). They are expensive in the winter but nice place.
