RV Campgrounds in Southern Ohio

I am looking for campground near Peebles Ohio. I have checked out Campgroundreviews.com and followed Google search locations listed campgrounds, but I'm wondering if anyone here has a favorite camp in that area. We are heading out next week and my plan is to take a ride on the "Lincoln Highway" US 30. Stop at Kidron Ohio to check out the Lehmans non electric store, then head south to Peebles an take in the Serpent Mount. Afterwards, after running around Chicago we will pick up US 30 westwards again.
As always, suggestions are appreciated.

Rocky Fork SP is a little NW of Peebles, and is a nice stop.
  • Thanks for this suggestion, it's just what I am looking for.
  • There is also East Fork State Park. It’s a little west of Peebles but it is a larger campground than Rocky Fork. There is also Long’s Retreat, a private campground in the general area.
  • Rocky Fork Lake SP or Paint Creek Lake SP are good choices for checking out the mounds in the area. Staying at either one would give you an opportunity to check out Hopewell Culture National Historical Park located in Chillicothe, in addition to seeing the Serpent Mound down by Peebles.

If you are going that far south I would visit Hocking Hills State Park there are a number of CG's inside the park itself. It has very interesting rock formations including caves.
