Thanks for your answers! We have selected the red coconut rv park, because it is on the beach and very Close to fort Myers times square.

We want also spending some days on the keys, what do you think about leos campground? It is the closest to key west!

We are also looking to stay some days on bahia Honda state park campground, but unfortunately it almost sold out in this time! Maybe someone cancel his booking? has anyone had such experiences?

You don't want to go to Leo's -- its a small trashy CG. If you want to be close to KW, Boyd's is just a block or 2 from Leo's but is well managed. If you don't want a pool, El Mar is also in the neighborhood. Keep looking at the reserveamerica website for Bahia Honda... cancellations pop up frequently, you just have to be lucky to be checking at the right time. If you want to be in the area of Bahia Honda, check out Big Pine Fishing Lodge and CG. Just a few miles from Bahia Honda with good facilities and great owners and staff.

San Carlos to times square sounds about right, and is over a fairly large bridge.
Red coconut mileage doesn't sound even close.
Put it this way, in that kind of dead stop traffic and with thousands of people walking/riding everywhere, I will never bike from Red Coconut.
I wouldn't be at all afraid to bike From San carlos.

Anybody else who has been there got an opinion?
Just curious.

I also have never timed the miles from Red Coconut to Times Square, but I am guessing it is 1.5 to 2 miles. Depending on what time of year you could make it faster on a bicycle than in a car though!

Sanibel park was $1400 a month when we spoke to the guard dog a few weeks back. We had flown down and were surprised there was a park on the island so stopped in.
It is in very nice condition as you would expect for the location. Rates drop to $950 in June.

Holiday Cove RV in Cortez, just a few miles from AMI. Expensive but very clean. Stayed there last year.

Use to stay here but no longer, run by the owners, don't know what their summer rate is but they just raised their winter rate to $2200.00 a month plus electric.

Go next door to Buttonwood, takes you 5 mins to get to Anna Marie, the park is in Cortez and has the best restaurants for seafood and ribs or wings. Great park, friendly folks!

Red cocnut would be a pretty long bike ride to times square.
San Carlos rv resort is just over the matanzas bridge from times square, bayfront sites are very nice.
we stay there several times a year.
We only live about 45 minutes away, but it's a nice beach getaway.

according to Google maps red coconut-times square is 1.3 miles and san carlos rv Resort-times square 1.2 miles :?

We also looked at Red Coconut since we spend some time on the beaches there. Our CG resort address is Fort Myers Beach, which most people think means you are on the beach, however Fort Myers Beach is actually the town next to Ft. Myers.

Anyway, folks down there told us that staffers usually have to park your rig for you at Red Coconut because it is so tight in there. We observed most awning only out 4 or 5 feet because they would have been touching their neighbor if out any further. Plus make sure you have tons of spray lubricant so you can keep spraying all your metal parts on RV while there. That close to salt water will start eating things up in a hurry.

No thanks.....we will jump on our bicycles and ride the 2 miles to the beach.

I'm not s big fan of Red Coconut only because the beach sites are right on top of each other. If you belch you may get a response from your neighbor that's how close the sites are. When the DW and I drove through I was amazed at people's awnings almost touching their neighbors slideouts but to each his own. I must tell you I have attempted Bahia Honda waterfront site for more years than I can count with no luck and even have checked for cancellations, maybe you'll have better luck than me. I can't give you any info on Leo's CG as we always stay at Curry Hammock when we go to the Keys. I hope you enjoy yourself no matter where you stay.

On Sanibel Island there is Periwinkle RV park. About 1/2 mile to beach, nice bike ride. They only accept cash or check, no pets or ground fires. Good places near by to eat and great bike riding along trails all through out the island.

Nothing directly on Anna Maria Island. There are a couple of 55+ parks that are closer, but we have stayed at Buttonwood several times down there. It's not ON the island, but its 9/10s of a mile get to the Gulf from the park. We have walked or ridden bikes numerous times. They have the free shuttle up and down the island and there is a stop right at Cortez and Gulf Dr.

Beautiful park, great location and a nice walk or bike ride to the beach. I LOVE AMI. My parents are headed there as we speak. I have a 6 week old son laying next to me on the couch right now, or else we would be making our yearly trip to camp down there too.

Have fun! Get a burger from Skinny's for me and have the all-you-can-eat pancakes at the AM Beach Cafรฉ!
