RV Park or Resort and Fishing around Lak Michigan and Huron

In June wife has planned a trip to an RV rally near Lake Michigan. We were there 13 years ago and the fishing in Lake Michigan was fantastic with Trout, Salmon etc just about stacked up in the water.
This time unless we ca n go around to the leeward shore don't think we will go out as we both got deathly sick from the rough water.
Suggestions for quieter or rather calmer water but great fishing for anything that bits except bull heads, and less far less than 500.00 per day for pontoon or other suitable but small boat. After we leave there Southern Michigan and her school and family reunion possibly an antiquing and Amish stores and all that. If we can make time I would like to fish the western shore of Huron. Previously we found a dearth of boats to rent, empty RV spaces at any parks, or charters including Port Huron.I don't think there are even any fishing piers or much of anything else save cold cold water.
So if you have places suggestions etc I would appreciate hearing them.

Northern Michigan has some good sized lakes other than the Great Lakes, where the water likely won't be as rough. Torch Lake, Burt Lake, Mullett Lake, etc. Not sure about boat rental places; someone else might have input. A quick search brought up this: go fast rentals
