Your best bet would probably be Aux Arc Park or Dardanelle State Park since the're both only 5 or 6 miles off the interstate

I dont remember seeing any pull through sites at Aux Arc. Been a while since ive been there though

Thank you. I'm looking for a Park close to I40. This will be a drop in at 830pm and out at 630 pm type of stop so I want to find a flat pull thru site if available. I will call the places you mentioned.

Thanks

X2 on Petit-Jean State Park however you have to cross the Arkansas River at Russellville to get to it heading East on I40. Then you can get back on I40 at Morrilton... Only a couple of bridges crossing the Arkansas River in that area...

Believe me when I say Arkansas is not known for good back roads... I ran all of those back roads back in TitanII Missle Silo days in that area North of I40 when I was stationed at Little Rock AFB in the 60s...

We would go work on the Comms at the Mislle silos during the day and then fish our way back to the base. Arkansas is well known for it's fishing holes. The saying back then was you could go 30-minutes in any direction and find a good fishing hole...

Of course Petit-Jean would not be a one night stop-over for me... Nice place...

Petit Jean is east of Russellville - west of Morrilton, but it is an amazing park!
Aux Arc like mentioned is pretty nice too. Its right down the road from Altus, that has a really neat wine village with good prices
Lee Creek Park in Van buren is supposed to be pretty nice, never actually stayed there though

Lake Dardnelle state park is right there on the west side of Russellville too. very pretty campground

+1 Petit Jean is one of the best state parks in the country.

If you actually must be west of Russellville, Aux Arc Parc COE just south of Ozark is very nice as well and a little closer to I-40.
