- RVnavigatorExplorerIf you don't mind boondocking, then you can park in the central city just a block from Lake Michigan. There is a large truck staging parking lot just south of McCormick place at Lake Shore drive and I55 that offers gated parking for large vehicles. There is of course a parking fee but it is minimal. The lot is big enough so that, under most circumstances, you will not be bothered by the semis.
This lot is very convenient to all of Chicago's main attractions - many are within biking distance. - Followin__the_sExplorerFish Lake Beach Campground in Volo is a good place to stay. FHU and close to a Metra station (train into the city). Shopping and restaurants close by. The aforementioned KOA is also okay but the expressway to get there is under construction and traffic is a mess.

- brireneExplorerWhat area of the city will you be visiting? There are options in each direction, but they are mostly further out. Are you amenable to taking a commuter train into the city?
- WyoTravelerExplorerIf you are in Chicago visit the museum of science & industry.
