- retispcsiExplorerSitting in Trailer Village at this moment. Took an hour to get into the park yesterday. Now we can go where ever in the park. Shuttle buses, hiking etc. We have FHU and cable it is nice. There are some empty spots right now but it depends on what size you need and they have dry camp sites also.
- Movin__onExplorerThanks for the advice. I will try calling Trailer Village and see if I can book for at least 3 days. We would like to head that way in a couple weeks.

We made reservations at the KOA in Flagstaff. This is sort of a central location because we plan to visit the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and several other places in the area. We'll be up there in October.
Saves a LOT of driving if you just move and stay close to where you'll visit. Staying in one place makes for some very long days and will you visit the places only one day? - pawpaw47ExplorerWe made reservations at the KOA in Flagstaff. - tsetsafExplorer IIIDepends on what hookups you need also plenty of choices in Williams az
- Dick_BExplorerX2 on the train from Williams. It only stays at the South Rim for three hours which is the average length of time for visitors anyway who are not hiking.

Another possibility is stay in Williams and take the old steam train to the Grand Canyon. Fun trip. Maybe stay overnight in hotel. We've done the train trip. I think it is worth doing. May be less crowded late fall or early spring.
Most often the steam engine is NOT used - diesel instead. Also - the train ride both ways only allows you very few hours to see/enjoy the Park!! - harold1946ExplorerThere is also an RV park in Valle, about 30 miles south of the park.
- Johno02ExplorerTalk directly to the people at the campsite office at trailer Village. We were lucky and got a walk-in site for a week. The reservation web pages show many bookings that don't really exist, there are generally walk-ins available from no-shows.
