- Dance_ChickExplorerIt depends on what you like, but we're at the KOA in SLC now. We really like this park as it's more what we like. Has full HU with level, asphalt pull-thrus and some are concrete with a concrete parking slab for the toad. There are trees for shade, and it's very clean. City park next door with a nice walking path and convenient to sight see.
- hellbird503ExplorerThank you everyone for your replies, Dave
- sealevel_ramExplorerMountain Shadows, in the south metro area, is an urban park, with all the advantages and disadvantages that the term implies. We have stayed there many times since we have family near there.
The sites vary a lot. If you have a large MH or towable, you could be in trouble. - AllworthExplorer IIMountain Shadows.
Make reservations, though. They fill up on days that you wouldn't expect. Mormon festivals or conferences or something. - missourijanExplorerX2 on Jordanelle State Park, nice bathrooms & laundry room, elec & water mostly, dump onsite, they do have some with full hookups, nice views of the lake
- BigdogExplorerThe KOAs in the area are all nice, but have different attractions. We have stayed at the SLC one and would go back for the convienence of it,being right in the middle of the area and on the train route and a major street.
- timandsusanExplorerSalt Lake City is spread out along the interstate for MILES--so a lot depends on where you want to go while you visit. We stay at Mountain Shadows in Draper because it is nearest park to our daughter in Sandy. We have been to the KOAs and they are good but their location does not fit our travel plans now. So enjoy everything SLC has to offer and choose a park best for your visit.
- morleyExplorerJordanelle State Park near Park City is quite nice, although some of the sites have been criticized for not being level.
- kknowltonExplorer IINot a ton of choice in the SLC metro area. We have stayed at both the SLC and Brigham City KOAs and they were decent, though nothing to write home about. SLC's advantage is its convenience - even more so now that the Trax commuter train line is finished on North Temple St. We were last at that KOA when they were building the line, and it was a bit of a hassle. We did find the side road out, though, and that turned out to be a little easier access. We did enjoy the country atmosphere at the Brigham campground too.
- LaurenExplorerUp north there is Golden Spike or something like that - were there a couple of years ago and it was nice.
