RV parks on 80 east

Headed for Missouri from Sacramento. Does anyone have recommendations for RV parks on 80 ? I'd prefer going 40 but the weather may be cooler the North route. I know it won't be cold either way.:B
  • Vedauwoo is a FS CG just off I80 between Laramie and Cheyenne. It's a beautiful spot. 10$ a night I think. At Rock Springs I stayed at the KOA twice but prefer the Fairgrounds just north of town. It's a large gravel lot with pedestals but cheaper and not as noisy. Sidney NE has a CG right next to Cabellas. Country View CG at Ogallala was decent but many years ago. There's a nice museum at Kearney NE. I've drove under that thing maybe a dozen times and never stopped until last year. I enjoyed it. It's about the Oregon Trail and westward migration.
  • We like http://www.lagoonpark.com/park-info/camping-lodging/ when we are

in Salt Lake / Farmington .

+1, RVParky app. We, Wife and I, recently used it to plan a 5200 mile road trip. Gas Buddy, too.

I-80, Evanston, WY, Phillips RV Park on Bear River Drive. Easy access to the highway. Downside would be the close by railroad track. Jody’s Diner. State Park with sewer dump.

Pine Bluffs, WY, RV Park. Big spaces, not very “pretty” but good for an overnight. We did the reservation and paid credit card with a phone call. Again, close to Union Pacific tracks, but that’s I-80 ;)

Depending on your route, Victorian Acres campground, Nebraska City, NE, is a very nice stop. Good pull through spot, dog friendly. Check the bridge crossing, which was closed for flooding in June. We were westbound from St. Louis and detoured west off I-29 at St. Jo. No problem and good roads.
    Safe travels!
  • lots of really nice KOA's along I80. Use KOA.com or the app to view and reserve.
  • Reno: Grand Sierra RV Campground
Winnemucca: Silver State or Model T. First come first served.
West Wendover: KOA just so so. It's a KOA
Salt Lake City: KOA is the only game in town. Take in a show at the MTC.
Cheyenne: Terry Bison RV Park. Take the tour and feed the buffalo.
    Lincoln: Camp A Way.

    Hope this helps.....Dennis

  • 80 is a pretty long highway so I'm guessing you want suggestions anywhere along that route?

The KOA in Laramie, WY isn't bad, we've stayed there before. Sites are close together and it's right off the freeway but it works fine for an overnight.
