rv resort

Anyone stayed at Jamaica Beach Resort in Galveston? Going that way late September with my grandson.
  • We stayed there for 3 days this summer. Park has lots of thing for children and a adult only swimming pool. Beach was a short drive across street and our site faced the Gulf for a great view. Office staff was very friendly and park was super clean.
  • Give my regards to Ron when you get there. We've stayed there a while the past two winters, and were quite satisfied.

  • We stayed the weekend here and really enjoyed it. We were in site 13 facing the beach. There are lots of things for kids to do. It's a very short drive or walk across the street to the beach. The park was clean and the staff very helpful. Nice landscaping. Only 11 miles into Galveston for restaurants, etc. There are some tight turns around the office but taking these a little wide was no issue.

Only one negative. The park's septic treatment system is on the end of the row we were on. While we did not smell it much at our site, walking the dog one site over, I was blasted with the horrible smell. The campsite on the end basically has the sewer system right in front of the site. AVOID SITES 11 and 12!
  • Check out these independent reviews...mostly 9's and 10's.

  • We have reservations for next weekend. I will post an update with our experience. That is assuming TS Dorian does not ruin our plans.
  • We camped right down the road at the state park, you will find that Jamaica is on the west side of the road and not directly on the beach. From the road I was not impressed with the look of it.
