See Little Bighorn and Devil's Tower "on the run"?

Depends on what you do at each location.
Devil's Tower has a trail around the base. memeory takes about 1.5 hours.
Bighorn has a driving tour take takes a couple hours plus the visitors center.

Well you can see Devil's Tower from the hwy and might as well just pick up a post card for Little Bighorn

Does the postcard comment mean it's not worth stopping, or that if I'm going to do it really quickly that it's not worth stopping?

About what we spent at each, but not on the same day. I enjoyed both, one for the historical significance and one for the natural wonder. About 3 1/2 or 4 hours between the two as I remember so it would be a long day. And I don't know what is available as far as overnight stays near each.

I would have done the walk around at Devil's Tower, but I was lame just then. Do stop in the visitor's center and read the different theories of why it exists. - Interesting.

I did walk some of Little Big Horn. There is to get your arms around if you are a history buff, if not, there is a monument......

A couple of hours at each should suffice, but you do realize they are not really that close to each other, yes? Three & a half hours driving from one to the other with no stops.

To get a really good experience at Devil's Tower, you need to do the shorter hike around the base as you get so many great and different views of the tower. Little Big Horn is interesting to see, and you could can do quite a bit in a couple of hours.

While I believe there is RV parking at both locations, the problem could be with the amount of people and spots available. From what I saw either location could be a problem. My suggestion would be to stop and see Little Big Horn and then move on down to Devil's Tower. The best time to see and/or hike around Devils Tower is either early in the morning or late in the day. The KOA right at the entrance of Devil's Tower is very convenient and allows for multiple trips into the park.

If I had to choose just one of the two, I'd go with Devil's Tower but I'm biased due to my interest in photography.

As we approached by vehicle and again as we walked around the visitor's center at Devils Tower I kept wondering if the hike around would be worth the effort.

It was definitely worth it to me. The view up that thing on the "back" side is something like I've never seen before...

Doing either quickly isn't giving them the respect or personal involvement one should invest to appreciate either.


Kinda like driving down the street past the Alamo and claiming you have been there.
