Showlow, Pinetop Arizona RV parks?

Can anyone recommend a decent RV park for a couple nights near Showlow, Pinetop, Lakeside, McNary area in Arizona? Most I've found in searches are for permanents, lot sales etc. Any ideas?

    rvparkreviews.com shows 17 around Showlow

Lots of websites showings many RV parks in the area. Majority are permanent mobile home parks, age restricted, small tight spots etc. Am hoping to find first hand knowledge of some of one thats better suited for a few day stop, wide spots with easy access, full utilities etc.
  • We have stayed at K Bar RV Resort and Fools Hollow Lake in Show Low. In Springerville we have stayed at Casa Malpais Campground. In Big Lake, Apache Trout Campground. For more than a night I would choose Fool Hollow or Apache Trout if sites are available.
  • If you're going to be headed west on 260, there's a beautiful Forest Service campground about 15 miles west of Heber called Canyon Point.$17 a night with electric with senior pass.Sites are nicely spaced under tall pine trees. Nice showers. Dump station.

For our upcoming trip am looking for something closer to Pinetop/Lakeside. Heading to a huge car show and other area events in a couple weeks.

We've stayed at Canyon Point a few times but its been many years. Will keep that in mind for future trips, thanks!

Fools Hollow Lake State Park is the best one up there.

No availability for our dates. Like most AZ state parks, they're filled months in advance. Looks like a nice campground.
  • Fool Hollow is tough to get into. Lyman Lake is a better option, but it might be a bit farther away than you're looking for.
  • We are heading to Canyon Point and the prices have gone up considerably. The non electric sites are $25 and Electric sites are $30.00. We stayed at Big Lake a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful but a long way out. Apache Trout was the nicest but also the most expensive
  • We have stayed at Venture In several times and enjoyed it. They have pull-throughs and they are decent sized.
