Sibley Lake Campground Wy info needed.

We are heading to Sibley Lake Campground on our way to Cody Wy. But no on can tell us if the campground has a water spigot that we can connect a water hose to. There is drinking water but it is not stated that it is available to fill a holding tank. I called the campground but the gentleman that answers is not sure and the host does not have cell phone coverage. At 7,900 feet I would prefer to not cary a full holding tank of water. Can anyone tell me if they know that there is a water hose connection available. Fresh water and dump is avaiadle 5 miles away from the campground.

Just be real careful coming down 14. Do not ride your brakes. Let the engine do the work as your RPM rises to max speed brake hard bringing your speed down 20 MPH or so very quickly then let up and allow the engine hold you back. Repeat as necessary. By the time you get to Shell You will feel like seasoned mountain drivers.

watch your brakes going down 14. it's a long descent. there's a nice rest stop at Shell Creek to take a break and cool your brakes.

WyoTravler. We are towing a 21' camper but the other couple is pulling a 31' TT. We are in Custer SP so we will be heading up 16A to I90 then to 14. We have been warned to not take 14A. Stopping at Sibley. Then on to Buffalo Bill SP.

What size TT are you towing on hwy 14? JMHO, highway 16 is a much better route over the Bighorns. Many of the locals don't even like pulling their horse trailers on 14 over the Bighorns.

Just remember to let your engine do the work on the down grade. Fortunately most of that driving is down the grade.

This is what you need:

Water Thief

You just stick it on the un-threaded end of the faucet and hook your hose to it, long enough to fill the tank.

Most campgrounds without hookups do not have threaded spigots, to keep people from hooking up and hogging the spigot.

It is NOT intended to be used for hooking up for continual use. Un-threaded spigots (older ones, anyway) may not have back-flow prevention, so don't use them in that manner. Just pull up close enough to fill your tank and then move on.

Since this is at Sibley Lake, there should not be limits on the amount of water you can use at a faucet, as there might be in a water-scarce area.

Or you could fill up 5 miles away.

I'm envious, wish I were on the way to Sibley Lake, too!
