Six weeks to see?

Hello All- we returned end of July from seven weeks touring Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Cody ( Buffalo Bill Museum,Chief Joseph hwy, & Beartooth) Little Big Horn, Pompey's Pillar, Devils Tower, and saw most everything S. Dakota had to offer (beautiful country)
We have reservations July 20-25 2015 at Glacier Meadows, Glacier NP, but beyond that we don't know. We have 6-7 weeks and can work around GNP -before or after. We certainly don't expect you to route our trip, or plan it for us,but just offer suggestions for places you felt worthy of staying/seeing. It was this forum that helped us figure out our 2014 itinerary and it was so great we figured we'd ask for 2015. Our only concern would be Canada - we would have to figure that out if we decided to stay in RV. We would never break the law so we would need to address what to do with our (legal) gun. I say leave it,DH more concerned.
We tow a 34' 5er with 3 slides.....if that matters. We prefer full hook up if possible but we also have a generator. We like desert,mountains,lakes,ocean....we are open to it all. We also aren't adverse to camping in one spot and taking day trips,or putting in long miles between destinations. We don't hike anymore but we can still walk a few miles if not too strenuous ( gimpy knee) Our likes are simple...seeing sights and just relaxing between seeing those sights. We like to lake fish (trout) so we usually try to rent a boat for a day or two if there is a lake nearby,but not necessary. We would begin from home in N. CA.

Somehow I don't see the RCMP buying into that logic! 🙂

Head north to Banff and Jasper National Parks (if you choose to leave said firearm at home). Breathtaking and plenty of things to do.

We really enjoyed Craters of the moon and Lassen. Lots to see in Lassen but then if you are from Woodland you may have seen it. Craters of the Moon is smaller. We used it as an overnight stop and still saw a lot of it. I have only flown over Crater Lake it was beautiful and is on my list of things to see.

Canada is very strict on guns. If you want to go, leave yours at home. That said, we made a short foray into Alberta last month, without the camper (left it in a CG by Glacier) and spent an enjoyable day in Waterton Lakes NP, which adjoins Glacier NP. Definitely recommend going, if only for a day trip, though the CG in Waterton Townsite (within the park) was surprisingly decent - older bathhouse buildings but sites seemed reasonably well spaced, and the view - either from the campsite or a short walk from it - was just outstanding, down the valley with the lake in the foreground and mountains around it!

You could hit Lassen NP and Crater Lake NP before heading east to Glacier.

I enjoyed craters of the moon park in Idaho. It is 38,000 acres of black lava flow with some shallow caves that the Indians used. Not too far away from the area you are in.
