Spend the night around Charlotte

Planning a trip north east Ohio to Hilton head and like to spend a night on the way. Last year we spent night in va at a flying J. This year like to make it farther south. Anyone use South Carolina welcome center or something around Charlotte near I77?

    Yes, decent area for overnight. Numerous restaurants and also movie theatre. You may want to know this is a busy exit especially on weekends (Lake Norman traffic/tourists)


    There is also a Ft Mill, SC KOA which is not far south of the NC/SC border is you want to get further south.
