Hey Cindi, I hope all is well, I'm back lol... Anyways about St George. It has a nice beach, but the mosquitoes and no-seeums are terrible. My wife wont go back. We've been there many times and this last time she said this is it! If you have a dog there is a designated beach that allows them. One of the few left that allows it anymore. Its not in the park but not far from it.
Apalachicola is not far from there, maybe 7 miles. Its a super nice town. Lots of restaurants and shops. Its very interesting. What time of year were you considering?

Hey, Floridacamper, all is well! We actually just got back yesterday. Split the time betweeen St. George and Henderson Beach. I am with your wife, will probably never go back to St. George. The area was beautiful, but the mosquitoes would carry you away. Could not even be outside at the campground. When we got to Henderson, put my chair outside and said, ahhh!

I hear you ๐Ÿ™‚

not sure on site 32 but have to say most of the sites are nice.
great place!
be sure to buy the ticket to get to the end of the reserve...at the ranger station you buy to get past the last gated park facility. A crazy road to the point and it is a wonderful spot. Great for fishing, relaxing and so private and quiet as no one ever buys the pass to get to the end past the last gate ๐Ÿ™‚ We did and will always use that part of the park. Great area for putting in kayaks also. Great walking trails.

go and enjoy this state park. FAB!!

As said the State Park is at the far end of the island. The island is not commercialized. There are a quick shop, few restaurants and gift shops. Buy supplies on the mainland. You can go to the beach and look in each direction and a few people. There is vegetation around the sites but beware there was standing water in the brush. The biting bugs were terrible. You had to spray as soon as you step outside. We would return in cooler weather hoping for less bugs. We were there in August.

Awesome place away from everything. Only bad thing when we went in July was that the biting knats and mosquitoes were relentless. If you did not have a strong breeze you could not be outside in the campsite. No problem on the beach. Deep Woods Off had no effect on these things. We bought a little bottle of No Natz!! that looked to be almost a homemade solution of lemongrass and some other stuff, and it actually worked.

We stayed there in June for 7 days. We were on site #40. I am sure site # 32 is about the same as site # 40. Sandy and some shade. Campground is at the end of the island and away from everything. We always took the car to the beach. We saw some that rode bikes there from the campground. Several places to get out to the beach. If you like the beach its wonderful there. But if not there is not much else to do. We like to just chill and it was fine for us. No sewer hookup there.

The Florida State parks that are on the ocean serve as habitat for migratory sea birds, many of which are endangered. That is the reason dogs are not allowed on the beaches at Fla. state parks,

We've been to St. George island a couple of times and love it. Very beautiful and miles of beach to walk. Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on much of it. The state park is very nice, I'm not familiar with the lot numbers though. I have heard that you want to keep your eyes open for rattlesnakes in the state park. The park is clear out on the end of the island, as I remember it is 8-9 miles from the bridge and shopping areas by the light house. We will be in the area again this winter and we will be visiting it again.

Don't keep track of sites but it's a great beach park. Sandy as expected.
