- fla-gypsyExplorerIt's been a long time since I was there. The beach is beautiful but when I was there the CG was nothing to write home about. Older all dirt state park CG. Possibly they have made some improvements. You should get other opinions.
- LamanExplorerWe were there for a couple of days last fall and really enjoyed the stay. There are two loops to the campground one being smaller dirt sites but the second I believe Pine hill or pineland or pine something had nice concrete pads, but the usual tight road getting in and out with trees close to sites making manuevering the 40' MH a little tricky. Short walk to a great white sand beach with some people surf fishing. I had to drive a short distance to get AT&T service. Nice quite campground I would definitley go to again.
- Pine_BarrenExplorerIt has been a few years since we have been there. I remember the second loop in the pines can't remember what they called it, but it was nice and the share was nice. It was not a long walk to the beautiful white sand beaches of the gulf on the boardwalk they had built. We have stayed on the gulf side once and to me except for the breeze there was not much shade and the sites were real sandy. But overall it is a nice park and is real busy during the summer typically during July during scallop season. We plan on going back there again.
- HappyCamper89ExplorerWe love St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. We have stayed in both loops and we prefer the Gulf Breeze loop because it's a little closer to the actual beach. Both loops are great though. The beaches there are beautiful and the island itself is not commercialized.
Are your relatives in Gulf Breeze, florida?? If so, this campground is a good 3 hours away. If you are needing closer to Gulf Breeze, Fort Pickens Campground is a great park. It's in Pensacola. Gulf state park in Gulf Shores AL would also be a good pick. - suprzExplorer

Yes our relatives live in gulf breeze and have a fifth wheel so maybe we can convince them to meet us - wxtoadExplorerWe love St Joseph Peninsula, although it's been a few years since we've been out there. Here are some pictures and comments.
Have a great trip!
Ted H. - Gunship_GuyExplorerSt Rosa Sound RV Resort in Navarre is 15 minutes or so from Gulf Breeze. Great place. Many more very nice places to camp much closer to Gulf Breeze than St Joe.
- rbtgloveExplorerWe spent a week there last spring and really enjoyed the stay. Some of the best sunsets anywhere. Nice beaches. Some of the sites are kinda close and the good sites fill up quickly. Lot of people fishing but didn't see much caught. Long ways to much of anything but there was a funny small restuarant near the entrance (dog friendly) with pretty good food.
- craigtExplorerThis is one of our favorite parks. We were there twice last year. Boat lauch available. Water and electric only; dump station in park.
If you like walking on the beach, reading, fishing, or bicycling, this is the place for you. All restaurants, fast food, grocery (other than two convenience type stores) or other things are about 30 miles away. Take everything you need with you.
Ocean Breeze loop is pretty easy to see on Google Earth, more open with some concrete pads; best in summer months because of the air circulation.
Piney Woods loop has more growth between sites and more shade; lots of bugs in the summer due to lack of sea breeze penetrating the forest. Best in winter because the trees can block the cold winds. Some concrete pad sites as well.
There is a tackle shop next to the only gas station on the peninsula, but he closes the Sunday after Thanksgiving each year and I am pretty sure that he opens back up in March.
Hope this helps.
BTW, we like Henderson Beach in Destin too; just much smaller but near all the shopping, eateries, and conjestion. - CamsmomExplorerWe spent a week there last September and loved it. One of our favourites. It was not busy, nor buggy compared to the rest of Florida at that time of year. The beaches are amazing and not busy at all. We just loved the laid back easy going feeling of the place. Will definitely go back. We had a non paved spot in the Pine loop and it was really nice. The other loop had less shade so could be hotter. The washrooms were very clean. The only negative for some people would be that it is also a wildlife preserve so snakes, gators (saw one in the picnic area) etc.
