1. Hike up the mountain - it is not hard. We did it with our 5 year old at the time. Rode the tram back down.

2. Visit the granite quarry museum.

3. Ride the train if operating.

4. There are come good antique shops in the town.

Pay attention to the directions the park gives you regarding low clearances if you follow your GPS, it will guide you to a very low RR bridge.
Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

Iโ€™ve been once, we live about 30 minutes from it. Itโ€™s not really my kinda place, to touristy. The campground was fine, but unless you have a reason to be in that area, there are better options.

We enjoyed the laser show, assuming they still do that. I seem to remember some controversy some years back about it being un-PC.

We were there in the winter and did the Snow activities which the kids enjoyed.
We all concluded winter must be the better time to be there. You can take a cable car up to the top of the mountain and hike back down or take the cable car back down. We found several hiking trails in the park. The downtown village area has some shops, a 4D theater and a museum of sorts. I believe there is also a Paddle Boat and a train tour which were not in operation when we were there in January of 2015.

We enjoyed our visit, but we did spend more time in the campground than we were expecting.
